Kahina Abdeli-Galinier joins Blue Spark Energy as Chief Executive Officer

London, United Kingdom—Blue Spark Energy has appointed Kahina Abdeli-Galinier as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Kahina joins the business with a distinguished career at the intersection of energy, sustainability, and technology, most recently at SLB, where she founded the company’s methane mitigation business. She has consistently demonstrated the ability to take emerging technologies from concept to commercial success, leading organizations through periods of rapid growth and transformation.

Her appointment is an important milestone for Blue Spark Energy as it enters a phase of accelerated growth, taking its BLUESPARK® technology into new markets worldwide and setting a new standard for sustainable, cost-efficient and easy-to-deploy wellbore remediation.

Bradley Doig, board director, Blue Spark Energy, says: “The next decade of oil & gas production needs our technology. Operators are under pressure to maximize recovery from every well, with ever leaner, cleaner infrastructure. The board has appointed Kahina to capitalize on this moment of incredible opportunity to dramatically scale the business.”

Fellow board director Dan Pfeffer adds: “Kahina’s experience fits the challenge perfectly, combining deep knowledge of oil & gas with a track record of persuading the industry to embrace transformational ideas and technologies. The board - and our biggest shareholder Robert Friedland - are delighted to have her on the team.”

Kahina comments: “Blue Spark’s technology has a disruptive power that strongly resonates with me. It plays both to the physicist and the entrepreneur in me. As a veteran of the energy industry, I can clearly see the huge commercial potential – already proven by the team over the past decade. Now it’s time to unlock rapid growth. Building on strong foundations, an already global footprint, and a proud safety record, we can shape the future of oil and gas production. It’s already begun.”

Kahina started her new role at the beginning of October and is based at Blue Spark Energy’s London base.
