“Proactive, data-driven well intervention starts today”

Scale sampling enables data-driven well intervention

BlueSpark previews platform for well health at ADIPEC, launches scale sampling capability to power data-driven intervention

Abu Dhabi, UAE (November 02, 2026). BlueSpark, the well intervention technology business, is making the case for proactive, data-driven well intervention today as it previews digital tools and launches a new scale sampling capability.

Together with BlueSpark’s proprietary pulsed power intervention technology, these latest developments will help operators move from reactive fixes to proactive treatments anchored in well health. The unveiling at ADIPEC (Hall 8, Booth #8610) is part of the company’s push to modernize well intervention, so the industry can deliver more from the world’s existing wells.

Kahina Abdeli-Galinier, President and CEO at BlueSpark, explains:

“For too long, well intervention has been driven by reacting to problems after they occur. With existing wells playing an increasingly important role in energy supply, we need to change when, why and how we intervene. That’s modern well intervention. It’s why we combine proven physics, hard evidence and data intelligence so operators can make better decisions, act earlier and maximize the value of mature assets. It’s about more than fixing failing wells. It’s about managing their health proactively while reducing costs. It starts today.”

The Sampler: physical evidence informs better interventions

BlueSpark’s scale sampling is a key enabler of evidence-based intervention, by bringing samples of scale and debris removed during treatment back to surface for analysis. This means operators can retrieve location-specific samples for chemical analysis to validate, adjust or fine-tune treatment methods.

A newly developed device, The Sampler, attaches to BlueSpark’s downhole tool to collect scale and other solids removed during treatment. It can retrieve samples from precise intervals of the well, to build a forensic picture of scale compositions across different sections or on different components. This helps connect what happens downhole with subsequent analysis and future treatment planning.

Scale intel and a platform for well health

The data generated from scale sampling is useful standalone but becomes more powerful still, when feeding into an intelligence platform that adds historic and contextual data to understand well health and inform future treatment decisions for the sampled well and its neighbors or analogs.

BlueSpark is building such a platform, with digital tools to prioritize candidates for proactive treatment, plan cost-effective intervention campaigns and track outcomes to continuously enrich the intelligence picture across well populations.

At ADIPEC, the team will be previewing these capabilities, showing how the ability to sample, combined with a data-driven well health approach, can quickly turn well intervention from a linear “fail, fix, fail again, fix again” pattern to a continuous learning loop where every intervention is more effective than the last and perfectly timed to minimize costs.

Kahina concludes:

“The world’s existing wells represent an enormous opportunity to deliver more energy without relying solely on new drilling, but too much production potential is lost when we intervene too late or without fully understanding the problem. Our ambition is to change the economics of mature assets by making well health a priority, not an afterthought. For us, success isn’t measured by the number of successful interventions, but by how effectively we sustain production, manage costs and extend productive well life.”

The BlueSpark team will be at their booth (#8610) in Hall 8 throughout the show. In addition to the new sampling technology and digital tools, visitors can discover BlueSpark’s proprietary pulsed power technology and its track record around the world, as well as new applications in P&A and cement remediation.
